Monthly
Turning Demonstration
At last month's meeting Chuck Smith
suggested that the club make turned cars to give away at Christmas time.
The program at the May 8 meeting will be a hands on learning to turn a car
event. This event will show club members how to make these cars and to
give everyone who comes a chance for a hands on turning lesson. Hopefully,
after this event you will be inspired to go home and make many more. This
is not a typical demonstration. We will have as many turning stations set
up as we can. Please bring your mini-lathe if you have one. Wood will be
provided.
Come ready to turn.
Please bring:
eye protection
dust mask
mini-lathes and spur drive
turning tools (labeled with your name)
President’s Report:
By Gary Scott
Spring is upon us after a mild winter season for the most part. I
am going to try golf and fish and turn more this year so I have a busy year
ahead.
Thus far in 2007 we have been treated to some excellent
demonstrations with more to come, thanks to our program committee.
It will be hard to beat Binh Pho when he was here, he was great.
Thanks, Curt, for the grant writing.
There is a good chance to have Stuart Batty for a regular meeting
Tuesday Sept 11 and hands on Sept 12, continuing the growth and interest in the
club allows us to offer the quality programs and workshops that have been so
well received. Encourage a friend to come and join us for our regular meeting
if they have any interest in woodturning. Better yet, bring them to the meeting
yourself.
Remember DUES are due and
bring something to the raffle, this is our only income!
